Husband and wife team Lynne and John Boyce have had a romance with the sea ever since they can remember. Lynne called the QE2 home for years, while John has sailed everything from tiny dinghies to the most luxurious pleasure craft afloat anywhere in the world. They’re justifiably proud of their home away from home.
They personally supervised every aspect of the construction of the Sydney Sundancer and took great care to incorporate every convenience. John is a master Mariner and has been sailing for over 30 years. His expert knowledge ensures the yacht runs smoothly and so does your holiday. John has sailed round the world but the sirens of the Great Barrier Reef keep calling him back.
Lynne is a master chef and every day intoxicating new aromas will emerge from the galley carried on cool ocean breezes. Once you’ve experienced fresh fish caught only moments ago you can’t go back to anything else. Lynne’s cooking has an emphasis on healthy cuisine and she is more than pleased to cater for people with special dietary requirements. Lynne is also an expert on shells and coral, and her enthusiasm for her subject is contagious as she guides guests on expeditions to explain the various reef life.
John’s expert navigation skills and broad knowledge of the area means you will see the most beautiful beaches and even the remote outer reef if time permits.
There’s also plenty to see and do on land and they’ll guide you through remote bush tracks to view the very special surprises the area holds at every turn.

Lynne Boyce is a Master Reef Guide who is in the water with guests leading every snorkelling expedition. She ensures that the very best of the underwater world at every location is discovered in a virtually private Master Class situation.
Master Reef Guides are expert guides to the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. They interpret the nature of the Marine Park in an educational, entertaining and engaging manner that is a delight to visitors, far exceeding their expectation.

Ecological, geological, cultural and historical values of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Areas are fostered by Master Reef Guides so that visitors gain a full understanding and appreciation of their uniqueness.
There are around 2 million visitors to the Great Barrier Reef each year and in 2022 there were only 82 Master Reef Guides which equates to around 24,500 visitors for each guide. We are also a High Standard Tourism Operator appointed by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority who operates sustainably and delivers high quality reef experiences. We help to protect and present the Marine Park to a consistently high standard and are recognised by GBRMPA for that commitment and dedication to showcasing and preserving the reef. We are independently certified by environmental certification schemes, such as Ecotourism Australia and Earth Check as part of the High Standard Tourism Operator programme requirements.
